Topanga Should Have Said 'I Don't'
Nearly 25 years later, Danielle Fishel wishes her character had made a different choice
Danielle Fishel, who played Topanga Lawrence in the popular 90s sitcom "Boy Meets World," recently revealed that she believes her character made the wrong choice when she married Cory Matthews at the end of the series.
In a recent episode of the "Pod Meets World" podcast, Fishel, 43, said that she doesn't think Cory and Topanga's decision to get married as teenagers was the right choice.
"I don't think I would have Cory and Topanga get married," Fishel said. "I think they would have had a much better chance of making it if they had waited until they were a little bit older and had more life experience."
Fishel's comments come as the cast of "Boy Meets World" is set to reunite for a new series on Disney+. The series, which is set 20 years after the events of the original show, will follow the adult lives of Cory, Topanga, and their friends.
It is unclear whether Fishel's comments will have any impact on the new series. However, her remarks do raise some interesting questions about the decisions that Cory and Topanga made at the end of the original show.
