WEB DIXON TOPS 229 ON RAIN-SHORTENED OPENING DAY AT INDY
Persistent rain curtailed the opening day of practice May 14 for the 108th Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge. With just over an hour of running, Chip Ganassi Racing's Dixon emerged as the fastest driver with a lap of 229.008 mph in the No. 9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda.

The 108th Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge will be held on Sunday, May 29, 2022. The race will start at 12:45 p.m. ET and will be televised live on NBC.
