The Colorado Avalanche lost 5-3 to the Dallas Stars on Thursday night in Game 2 of their second-round playoff series. The Avalanche had won the first game of the series in overtime, but the Stars evened the series with their victory in Game 2.

Avalanche Erase 3-0 Deficit in Game One

The Colorado Avalanche erased a 3-0 deficit in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals on Wednesday night to defeat the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 in overtime. The Avalanche scored three goals in the third period to tie the game and then won it in overtime on a goal by Nathan MacKinnon.

Since 1950, avalanches have killed more people in Colorado than any other natural hazard and in the United States. In the last five days of April, observers reported 134 avalanches in Colorado.
